A SKC vs SHF Comparison no one asked for (Part 3): Kamen Rider W Cyclone Joker Xtreme

Here's another round of comparison between S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou (SKC) and S.H.Figuarts 1.0 (SHF) of the same character, this time around: Kamen Rider W Cyclone Joker Xtreme (WCJX).

Box Art:

Content/Accessories:

SKC WCJX comes with a lot more accessories: 7 pairs of exchangeable hands, the main Prismbicker and 5 Gaia Memories; SHF WCJX on the other hand only have 4 pairs of interchangeable hands and Prismbicker.

Comparison side-by-side:

As usual, with the actual suit:

I like how the SKC has matte finishing for the Joker side. For the Cyclone side, I think the green painting on both SKC & SHF didn't manage to capture the correct color.

Actual figure comparison with different angles:

The common observation still holds, where the SHF 1.0 is much smaller than the SKC version, even though both are supposed to be 1:12 scale.

Now the detailed comparisons by parts, from head to toe:

SKC's helmet is more show accurate

The difference of the "Crystal Server" (middle part) is obvious here: SKC's has embossed pattern with iridescent finishing, while SHF's middle part is just plain white/silver with carved patterns; Both have their Crystal Server covered with clear parts.

SKC's iridescent Crystal Server shows different colors at different angles, love the aesthetic

s.h.figuarts shf vs shinkocchou seihou skc kamen rider double w CycloneJokerXtreme wcjx Xtreme Memory
SKC's Xtreme Memory is very detailed and it can be opened or closed; SHF's is just a painted piece

SKC's W-Driver and Xtreme Memory are separate pieces, you can detach the Memory from the Driver.

The comparison here really makes you appreciate the amount of effort in SKC's version to replicate the accessories in 1:12 scale. But be careful with them though - it consisted of 3 parts: left & right wings which were hold together by the middle piece, the joints are really fragile

You can insert Gaia Memory into SKC's Maximum Slot; SHF's Maximum Slot is a piece of plastic

SKC's joints colors were intentionally changed to joints with color consistency; SHF uses black parts for all the joints

Comparing the patterns on the armor: You can see the clear difference in workmanship. However for the choice of color for the golden parts, I believe the color SKC had picked is a little bit oversaturated

Unsurprisingly, SKC has cover to hide the hip joints; the covers even have the same treatment as the body part to ensure consistency

Both soles have more or less the same detail, though it should be highlighted that SHF's soles are made from metal cast.

Now we have a detail look at the weapons, i.e. Prismbricker

SKC's Prismbicker is much bigger than SHF version

s.h.figuarts shf shinkocchou seihou kamen rider double w CycloneJokerXtreme bickershield
The details of SKC BickerShield is insane. They even have separate parts for the small donut-shape plate.

PrismSword comparison: Front
Similar to BickerShield, Bandai is being very generous in using a lot of separate pieces to make the sword, instead of a single-piece of PVC.

PrismSword comparison: Back

SKC's Prismbicker comes with the gimmick to insert Gaia Memories, just like the show. Be warned though, it's kinda hassle to get them out after you inserted

As conclusion, SKC gives the quality you would expect from SKC products. It's an unfair comparison between the two as SHF back in 2010-ish didn't come with this sheer amount of attention to details. My verdict: definitely get one SKC WCJX if you can.

A SKC vs SHF Comparison no one asked for (Part 2): Kamen Rider OOO Super TaToBa Combo

S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider OOO Super TaToBa Combo was released as Tamashii Nation Online 2021 event exclusive item. It was later re-released as Tamashii exclusive in April-2022. That was when I managed to get my hand on this item.

Undoubtedly the SKC version has a number of improvements compared to its SHF counterpart which was released around 10 years ago. Here's the comparison of both figures:

Box Art:

As usual, being an event exclusive, SKC OOO Super TaToBa came with a special "sleeve":

Contents/Accessories:

SKC vs SHF OOO Super TaToBa combo
SKC OOO Super TaToBa comes with 7 interchangeable hand parts, an O-Scanner, 3 Medals + tool to remove medals and 2 arm-replacement parts for the claws; SHF OOO Super TaToBa comes with 5 interchangeable hand parts, an O-Scanner and a pair of claws

Comparison side-by-side:

First, let's see how both figures compared to the actual suit:

shinkocchou seihou vs shf figuarts ooo super tatoba

SHF at a first glance might seem good enough, but when you compare them side-by-side, you can clearly see the shortcoming of SHF. In overall, SKC's body proportions is much more show-accurate.
In terms of colors, both figures use the bright color to replicate the suit, but both failed at the choice of color for the green parts. SKC made it even worse when it went for cost saving and skipped the painting for the legs. This is quite surprising for a SKC product which normally go all out to pursue high accuracy. We'll have a  detailed look at this later on.

Here's the comparison of the two figures side-by-side:

Even though both claimed to be 1:12 scale, but you can still see there's some difference in the size - SHF is slightly shorter than SKC.

Now we have a detailed look from head to toe:

Noticeable difference is the shoulder pad design - SKC has a more screen-accurate design. Another noticeable difference is the slight difference in shade of red used for paint on the shoulders. SKC's red is glossier and brighter - like crimson-red; SHF's red is a bit dull (not sure if it has something to do with the paint oxidized over the years).

The logos on SKC's chest plate is cleaner & more well-defined

SKC OOO Super TaToBa features a super-detailed mini OOO driver. The OOO medals are 3 (also super-detailed) removable coins which you can insert into the driver; SHF's OOO driver is just a painted piece

Worth to mention that SKC OOO driver can be rotated like the real driver, and it's also removable

Both figures' Medals holders are one-piece plastic, cannot be opened. SKC's looks slightly better.

SHF's leg has its green color painted but SKC skips the painting by using a green-base mold. Can't say I'm a fan of this mold-color cost saving by BANDAI recently. SKC's black color parts have some white lining to detail the carved patterns. However, note that the actual suit doesn't have this lining.

SHF OOO Super TaToBa has a gimmick where you can remove the back plug to install the Kujaku wings from SHF OOO Tajadol Combo Effect Parts set.

Similar to all SKC OOO products, SKC OOO Super TaToBa also use the new joints which allow slight axial rotation of the arms; SHF OOO Super TaToBa on the other hand uses conventional joints

Same for the knee joints

SKC has better details on the O-Scanner and holder.

A closer look at the O-scanners. SKC's lack the white paint details.

You need to swap out the forearm for SKC in order to replace the claws; SHF requires only the swapping of the claw parts.

SHF's claw obviously need improvement lol

SKC's claw can be folded to a certain degree, probably to ease the process to change hand parts

SKC has cover to hide the hip joints

Sole details comparison

Last but not least, SKC features gimmick to separate the head, chest & lower body which allows collectors to mix-and-match different combos. Certainly a huge plus point which adds more playability
